Balancers & Stabilizers > |
How do I balance my pool water? Balancing your pool water is a much easier task than most make it out to be. The thing that complicates it is the fact that your pool water is constantly changing its consistency. There are many factors, including quality of water, quality of chemicals, covers that are used, and even the how many hours of direct sunlight your pool gets, that effect the consistency of your pool water. Before purchasing any products, please use a 5, or if possible, a 7-way test kit to measure each and every type of chemical from your pool. |

pH> |
| pH: pH measures the Acidic level of your pool. pH should be tested frequently, or until you get familiar with your pool chemicals. Normal range for pH is between 7.4 - 7.6. Having a pH that's low will cause your eyes to sting and or burn. pH that's below 7 can cause damage to the pool (pipes, or anything metal). Having a pH that's too high can lead to calcium scaling. |

Stabilizer> |
| Stabilizer/Conditioner (Cyanuric Acid or CYA): Stabilizers and sometimes called conditioners, protect chlorine from sunlight and lowers the effective strength of chlorine, require you to use more to get the same effect. Its very important to know your CYA level so you can figure out what chlorine level to aim for. CYA should generally be kept between 25-50. |
